Walberg & Cie. begleitet Gesellschafter der perisens GmbH beim Verkauf an BYK-Gardner / Altana AG

Munich, July 3, 2026 — The shareholders of perisens GmbH (“perisens”), a Munich-based company specializing in radar and communication systems, have sold their shares via a share deal to BYK-Gardner GmbH, a subsidiary of the specialty chemicals group ALTANA AG (collectively “ALTANA”). The transaction was completed on July 1, 2026 (closing).

perisens was founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich and has developed into a globally active specialist in radar measurement and testing technology for the automotive sector. With its Radar Target Simulator (RTS) and Radome Measurement System (RMS) product lines, the company offers measurement and testing solutions for radar sensors and radar radomes, which are used by leading automakers, radar sensor suppliers, and paint and pigment manufacturers in research and development, quality control, and production testing. The patented perisens technology has been in use worldwide since 2014 and enables precise process control of coated plastic automotive components.

BYK-Gardner GmbH, headquartered in Geretsried, is part of ALTANA AG, a global leader in specialty chemicals headquartered in Wesel. In 2025, ALTANA generated sales of over 3 billion euros and employs more than 8,000 people across the group at 58 production facilities and 67 service and research locations worldwide. The BYK business unit is one of the world’s leading suppliers of specialty chemicals and, in addition to additives, offers measurement and testing instruments for quality assurance that effectively evaluate the appearance and physical properties of materials.

Through this acquisition, ALTANA is strategically expanding its measurement and testing instruments segment via its BYK-Gardner business unit. Perisens’ radar measurement solutions complement the existing portfolio of BYK-Gardner GmbH, headquartered in Geretsried, with technologies that are gaining importance in the context of autonomous driving. As part of the transaction, perisens’ employees will be retained, and the company will be integrated into BYK-Gardner.
